In reply to <a href="https://www.rachaeljansen.com.au/the-burden-of-busyness/#comment-8048">Belinda</a>.

Wow Belinda, you sure do have it all going on! And I'm soooo glad to hear you're using the strategies we developed during your program. I've been wondering how you're going.

It's wonderful to hear you are being mindful, and trying to be kind to yourself in amongst all the goings-on. Sometimes life is just going to be busier than usual and sometimes we will skip our 'me time' - but being able to use some simple strategies of self care and tuning in to your body - just like you are doing - makes it easier to carry the load until it eases up again.

Well done!!! You've made my day by dropping in with that update :) Enjoy your night out beautiful lady - and your yoga tomorrow!

Ah yes Rachel, such a timely post. It is now a few weeks since I finished my mentoring sessions with you and I have felt that busyness start to creep back in. We got a new puppy this week - which saw me skip my yoga and guitar lessons (yes, the my-time) to settle her in and has meant not being able to get to the groceries so food stocks are dwindling and we are having the heightened anxiety of trying to teach her manners and not to jump/nip/and how to sleep without her siblings so my sleep has been broken too. It does all start to snowball!

On top of that our youngest projectile vomited through the car & my handbag (nice!), we have several birthdays happening in the next week and we have had issues with wild kittens that were starting to cause problems around our chickens and home.

The difference however has been how much easier I have been able to read my body. The tingling sense of adrenalin has prompted me to take to a calming herbal tea in the evening, enjoy a hot relaxing shower before bed, do some deep breathing exercises, try to scavenge what healthy food is left as I know how much better it makes me feel and I am doing better at overlooking the creeping mess & finding time to just sit and take a breather and enjoy our new puppy.

It is back to yoga on Wednesday and I am heeding your words of wisdom from this blog and putting into practice some of the amazing guidelines you helped me set around myself. Heading out for dinner with a girlfriend I haven't seen for ages tonight so it will be great to have some me time!

Off to groceries right now as I drop my daughter off at her after-school performance class so i am pulling back some order and a slower pace with good food and better treatment of myself right now!!
